A Hornell man was arrested earlier this month after allegedly being seen intentionally injuring a cat on Seneca Road in the town of Hornellsville.
New York State Police say 28-year-old Deshawn T. Miller was identified as the suspect following their investigation into the November 2 incident. He was arrested on November 6 and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a Class E felony.
Miller was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to Hornellsville Town Court on December 10.
The cat, now named “Mister,” was treated at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals and is expected to make a full recovery.
State Police thanked the Hornell Area Humane Society and the SPCA for their help throughout the case.
