A water main break in Canandaigua on Tuesday afternoon has triggered a boil water advisory for several neighborhoods and districts in and around the city.
The advisory covers the City of Canandaigua, the Town of Canandaigua Consolidated Water District, and the Canandaigua-Farmington Water District. It went into effect following a break near Bristol Street and West Street around 2:30 PM.
Boil for at least 3 minutes

Officials are urging residents in the affected areas to boil their tap water for at least three minutes before using it to drink, cook, brush teeth, wash dishes, or make ice.
The impacted roads include:
- State Route 21 (from the city line to the Hopewell Town line)
- County Roads 22, 10, 4, and 50
- State Route 364 (from Routes 5 & 20 to the Gorham Town line)
- Andrew Road, Arnold Drive, Woodland Park Circle, Eastwood Lane
- Fallbrook Circle, Poplar Beach, Sandy Cove, Sandy Beach, and Otetiana Point
The boil water advisory will remain in effect until lab tests confirm the water is safe to drink.
