Sheriff’s deputies cleared both Nazareth University and RIT on Tuesday after investigating fake threats, according to News10NBC. K-9 units searched Nazareth’s campus following a bomb scare near Clocktower Commons, which was later ruled non-credible.
RIT officials said a “swatting” email triggered a similar response. Multiple buildings were searched, but no real threat was found. Authorities believe the hoaxes are part of a wider online trend.
Both schools resumed normal operations by Tuesday afternoon.
