Thrift lovers in East Rochester will have a new place to shop—and support local programs—when Goodwill of the Finger Lakes opens its newest location next month.
The 28,000-square-foot store, located in the former Big Lots at 825 Fairport Road, will open its doors at 9 a.m. on Friday, October 10. The first 100 shoppers will receive a $10 gift card, one per person while supplies last.
This marks Goodwill’s 15th store in Upstate New York and its latest step in expanding access to sustainable, secondhand shopping. The East Rochester site joins recent openings in Greece, Ithaca, and Geneva.
Shoppers can expect a wide mix of gently used clothing, shoes, housewares, home décor, and seasonal items, plus a curated selection of new goods. All sales help fund Goodwill’s community programs, including workforce training, 988 crisis services, 211/LIFE LINE, and support for people with visual impairments.
“East Rochester is a natural fit,” said Jennifer Lake, Goodwill’s President & CEO. “This central, convenient location allows us to create jobs, strengthen our community programs, and keep goods in circulation.”
The store will begin accepting donations daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. starting October 6. Goodwill is also hiring, with 40 new positions expected at the East Rochester site.
Regular store hours will be 9 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Sundays.
