A routine traffic stop late Monday night in Waterloo led to a drug possession arrest, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Michael J. Wade, 43, of Waterloo, was pulled over around 10:46 p.m. on Sept. 15 after being spotted driving with an expired vehicle registration. The stop escalated when deputies discovered Wade was driving on a suspended license — and later found suspected cocaine inside the vehicle.
Multiple charges filed
Wade was charged with:
- Operating an unregistered motor vehicle
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (2nd degree)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (7th degree)
Deputies say Wade’s driving privileges had been suspended following a previous DWAI arrest. During the search of the vehicle, a white powdery substance was located and field-tested positive for cocaine.
Wade was processed at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center and released with appearance tickets. He is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court at a later date.
