Allen converted a quick counterattack from a Mariana Kessinger pass, slotting a right-footed finish past Providence goalkeeper Ellie Thallman. Officials reviewed the goal for offside but upheld it, keeping the Big Red on level terms.

Freshman goalkeeper Samantha Qureshey was key in preserving the result, recording five saves, including four critical stops in the second half. Providence had taken the lead in the 70th minute when a penalty awarded after a video review allowed Ella McBride to score. Cornell nearly completed the comeback in the final minutes, with senior midfielder Tanum Nelson creating multiple chances, including an 18-yard shot that drew a diving save and a late header that narrowly sailed over the crossbar.

Cornell held a slight edge in shot attempts, 12-11, despite being outshot on target 6-3, and also controlled the corners 3-1.

The draw extends the Big Red’s unbeaten streak against Providence to 2-0-3, with the last three encounters ending 1-1.

Cornell returns home Sunday to face Binghamton at 1 p.m. at Berman Field.
