Argyle man accused of posting AI-forged explicit photos

A Washington County man is facing charges after State Police say he used AI to create fake explicit images and shared them online without consent.

Troopers arrested 35-year-old Gary L. Norton of Argyle on September 8, following a complaint filed in mid-August about forged intimate photos posted to a public website.

Investigators say Norton took casual photos of people he knew from social media and used artificial intelligence to generate explicit images that appeared real. He then allegedly uploaded them to a public platform without the victims’ knowledge or permission.

Norton turned himself in at SP Greenwich and was charged with six counts each of unlawful dissemination of an intimate image and third-degree obscenity. He was processed and released with a court date set for October 21 in Argyle Town Court.
