An 85-year-old woman was cited after a two-car crash Saturday in Hopewell that sent two people to the hospital — including one by helicopter.
Ontario County deputies say the crash happened around 2:10 p.m. at the intersection of State Routes 21 and 488.
According to investigators, David Gedney, 28, was heading south on Route 21 when Joan Metheny, 85, entered the intersection from Route 488 and failed to yield at the stop sign. Gedney’s Jeep Wrangler hit Metheny’s Kia, causing injuries.
Metheny was taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital by ambulance. A passenger in her car was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital with a lower leg injury.
Deputies cited Metheny for failure to yield. Manchester and Shortsville Fire assisted at the scene.
