Sophomore defender Aidan Martin was instrumental in the win, assisting Andrew Johnson’s opening goal in the 42nd minute before scoring himself in the 62nd to extend Cornell’s lead. Forward Sam Latona added a third goal in the 79th minute, sealing the shutout.

Senior goalkeeper Ryan Friedberg recorded his 15th-career clean sheet, moving into sole possession of third place on Cornell’s all-time shutout list. The Big Red dominated early, firing 11 first-half shots, three on target, and maintaining control for much of the match.

Saturday also marked the first-ever matchup between Cornell and LeMoyne, giving the Big Red a 1-0 lead in the series. Johnson, a MAC Hermann Trophy watch list player and Charlotte FC draftee, scored Cornell’s first goal of the season for the second consecutive year.

Cornell will now hit the road for a California swing, starting with UC Santa Barbara on Friday, September 5, before facing UC Irvine on Monday, September 8.
