Jeanne Giovannini, the woman behind the transformation of Seneca Falls’ historic Knitting Mill, will receive the National Women’s Hall of Fame’s “Keeper of the Flame” award, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
The Sept. 27 event will recognize her leadership in turning the 1844 mill into a 16,000-square-foot museum. Guests can tour the space, sample gourmet food and wine, and view the original 1977 women’s rights torch.
Giovannini has served on the Hall’s board since 2007 and led its award-winning renovation since 2012.
