NY businesses bracing for tariff-related price hikes

New York businesses are bracing for price hikes and project delays as new federal tariffs take hold, according to Spectrum News.

Tariffs of 10% or more on imports from over 60 countries are hitting contractors and retailers hard. Industry leaders say the sudden costs—like a 35% tariff on Canadian goods—make it nearly impossible to plan, especially for public construction projects. Some small shops report delays in shipments for holiday items.

Economists warn U.S. businesses and households are absorbing most of the cost. Despite a temporary truce with China, local leaders say the full impact remains unclear.
