With the Great New York State Fair just two weeks away, construction on I-690 is raising concerns about heavy traffic, according to CNY Central.
Fairgoers say they plan to use rideshares or Centro buses to avoid parking headaches and construction delays. The DOT says at least two lanes will remain open during fair hours and urges visitors to download the 511NY app for real-time traffic updates.
Officials also recommend arriving early, as traffic is expected to worsen later in the day. Temporary lane closures will be avoided during peak fair times to ease congestion.
