Central New York residents gathered Saturday for a community workshop focused on the environmental impacts of the Micron project, according to Spectrum News. The event offered insight into health, water, and air quality issues tied to the proposed semiconductor facility.
Organizers explained how toxic chemicals used in production would be handled and treated, while raising concerns about worker safety and wastewater management. Attendees also learned how to submit public comments before the August 11 deadline.
The workshop followed the release of a lengthy draft environmental impact statement. A formal public hearing is scheduled for Thursday to further address the project’s effects.
