A Canandaigua resident was arrested June 30 following a domestic dispute at a Jefferson Avenue home involving a child witness.
Alijah Whitfield, 20, was charged with second-degree strangulation, unlawful imprisonment, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say he grabbed someone by the neck, slammed them to the floor, and restrained them.
Whitfield was transported to Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
