Downtown Hornell now boasts two new public art sculptures celebrating the city’s heritage, according to The Spectator. Installed this week, “Atlas Shrugged” and “The Tracks of Hornell” reflect themes of sustainability and local history.
Created by Sam Castner of Ironvine Studios, the sculptures were funded by the city’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative. “Atlas Shrugged,” inspired by trees, is located in Union Square Park, while “The Tracks of Hornell” sits on Main Street, showcasing train motifs and student-crafted maple leaves.
Hornell High School art students contributed to the historical piece, which visually narrates the city’s roots and growth.
