A New Jersey man has been charged with falsifying business records and petit larceny after allegedly attempting a fraudulent return at Von Maur in Eastview Mall.
Haroon Ibrahim, 45, of Union, NJ, was taken into custody on July 23 following an investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say Ibrahim selected merchandise in the store, then proceeded to complete a return without having paid for the items, causing a $125 loss to the retailer.
Ibrahim was charged with Falsifying Business Records in the 1st Degree and Petit Larceny. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Victor Court at a later date to answer the charges.
The incident was investigated by Deputy Giaconia and assisted by Deputy McCauley.
