A Newark woman was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after crashing into the back of a school bus at a traffic light in Ontario County.
Deputies say 67-year-old Tina Orlopp was driving a 2019 Ford Escape southbound on County Road 7 when she struck the rear of a Manchester school bus that was stopped at a red light at the intersection with State Route 96.
The crash occurred around 8:05 a.m. No students were on the bus at the time, and the driver, 74-year-old Robert Leddick of Farmington, was not injured.
Orlopp was transported to Clifton Springs Hospital after reporting chest pain. She was issued a traffic citation for following too closely.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash, with assistance from Finger Lakes Ambulance and the Clifton Springs Fire Department.
