Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Route 14 in the Town of Torrey, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Grace Pelino of Watkins Glen was traveling southbound around 12:28 p.m. when her vehicle veered into the northbound lane and struck an oncoming car driven by Gary Race of Canandaigua. Race’s passenger, Elsie Race, also from Canandaigua, was in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
Pelino was transported to Schuyler Hospital by Schuyler Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. Elsie Race was taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital by Penn Yan Ambulance, also with non-life-threatening injuries.
Pelino was issued a ticket for moving from her lane unsafely, a traffic infraction.
Responding agencies included Penn Yan Ambulance, Schuyler Ambulance, Dresden Fire Department, Himrod Fire Department, and Yates County Office of Emergency Management.
