Groton Central School District is offering over 50 free summer camps and activities for local residents, thanks to its fourth year under the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant, according to Tompkins Weekly. The programs, which run July 7 to August 15, range from guitar and gymnastics to hiking and pottery.
Led by passionate GCS staff, the initiative aims to curb summer learning loss while fostering student engagement through hands-on enrichment. Superintendent Margo Martin praised the effort as a way to keep students connected, active, and learning outside the classroom.
Registration is open, but spots are limited. Programs are open to all Groton residents — not just GCS students — with activities available for all ages.
