Cornell men’s lacrosse rallies past Princeton to capture Ivy League title

Cornell men’s lacrosse closed out its Ivy League campaign in style, storming past No. 2 Princeton with a 20-15 victory to win the Ivy League Tournament Championship on Sunday afternoon at Schoellkopf Field. It marks the Big Red’s third tournament title and first since 2018.

The top-ranked Big Red (14-1) erupted in the fourth quarter, scoring seven unanswered goals to erase a 14-13 deficit and seal their 10th straight win. Senior CJ Kirst led the charge with four goals and two assists, setting Cornell’s single-season goals record with 67 and climbing to seventh all-time in points with 98.

Ryan Goldstein turned in another standout performance with three goals and four assists, finishing the tournament with 15 points. Michael Long added four goals and four assists, while Jack Cascadden helped Cornell control the tempo with 15 faceoff wins.


Senior goalie Wyatt Knust made 12 saves to notch his 13th win of the season, anchoring a defense that shut down Princeton in the final stretch. Cornell also finished with advantages in shots, ground balls, and went 18-for-18 on clears.
