A simulated deadly incident unfolded on a Finger Lakes campus this week—but it was all part of high-stakes training, according to Spectrum News.
Hobart and William Smith Colleges hosted multi-agency “active threat” drills, bringing together police, fire, and EMS teams. In one scenario, responders handled a fatal shooting with multiple victims and a suspect taken into custody.
The training, known as Active Attack Integrated Response, aims to sharpen coordination and decision-making in rare but high-risk situations. Officials say the goal is simple: improve communication and response speed to save lives if a real emergency happens.
