A Penn Yan woman was arrested Wednesday after police say she failed to scan more than $170 worth of merchandise at a local grocery store.
Sandra J. Shriver, 57, was taken into custody on April 16 following a larceny complaint from the Aldi store in Penn Yan. Officers responded and determined that the stolen items were bypassed at the self-checkout station.
Shriver was processed at the police department and charged with petit larceny. She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court.
