Construction at the historic Three Bears complex in Ovid has pushed organizers to shift plans for their popular Mother’s Day plant sale—but flower lovers still have a way to support the cause.
The Friends of the Three Bears announced they will not hold their traditional May sale due to limited access caused by ongoing work inside Papa Bear. In its place, the nonprofit will partner with Dutch Mill Bulbs for a Fall Bulb Sale that begins in June.
The sale will feature a wide range of bulbs—including daffodils, tulips, crocus, hyacinths, and irises—with deliveries timed for fall planting. Orders will be accepted through September, and bulbs will arrive before the ground freezes, just in time for spring blooms.
Brochures and order forms will be available at Mama Bear from Thursday to Sunday, 12 to 2 p.m., as well as at the group’s art classes and concerts. Ordering information will also be posted on the organization’s website and social media pages.
