A Friday night fire leveled a home in the Town of Bath, leaving the structure a total loss, according to Bath Fire Chief Mike Fiordo. The blaze broke out around 7 p.m. on Velie Road, though no one was inside at the time.
Tragically, several animals perished. The homeowner, alerted by security cameras, reported the fire. The American Red Cross is helping those displaced. Fire crews from multiple departments responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
