The Newark Rotary Club, known for recognizing community service, dedicated this year’s event to honoring military veterans. A Salute to Our Veterans took place on March 1 at the Roosevelt Children’s Center in Newark, drawing about 90 attendees.
Former Newark police chief and veteran Dave Christler served as master of ceremonies, welcoming dignitaries, including State Sen. Pam Helming and Assemblyman John Zornow. The event continued the Rotary’s tradition of celebrating those who serve the community.
Since 2022, the club has honored local organizations, including school staff, healthcare workers, and first responders. This year’s tribute recognized veterans’ sacrifices throughout U.S. history.
