A Geneva man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly breaking into a motel room and attempting to sexually assault a victim, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Therian D. Atkins, 39, was taken into custody at 9:20 p.m. on March 16 at America’s Best Value Inn on State Route 5 and 20 in Geneva. Investigators determined Atkins had unlawfully entered the victim’s room and attempted to forcefully engage in sexual intercourse, deputies said.
Atkins was charged with burglary in the second degree and attempted rape in the first degree.
After his arrest, he was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he was held pending arraignment.
