Two arrested in Waterloo for stealing extension ladder

Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of a 24-foot extension ladder from a residence in the Town of Waterloo, according to Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson.

Deputies took Payton J. Gallup, 23, of Waterloo, and Lucaus R. Kirby, 37, of Harrisville, into custody on March 9 at 5:35 p.m. after an investigation determined they had stolen the ladder and stored it at Gallup’s residence.

Gallup faces multiple charges, including petit larceny (a class A misdemeanor), conspiracy in the sixth degree (a class B misdemeanor), and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree (a class A misdemeanor). Kirby was charged with petit larceny and conspiracy in the sixth degree.

Both men were transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where they were processed before being released on appearance tickets.
