A Dundee man has been arrested for falsely reporting a crime that police say never occurred.
Barry G. Stryker, 65, was taken into custody by the Penn Yan Police Department on March 3 after an investigation determined that his complaint was baseless. Authorities say Stryker purchased items from a business and then presented them to police as supposed evidence of a crime.
Stryker was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree. He was processed at the police department and released with an appearance ticket for Penn Yan Village Court.
No further details about the nature of the false report have been released.
