Auburn woman arrested for drug possession after being found with 21g of cocaine

An Auburn woman was arrested on felony drug charges after allegedly hiding cocaine from authorities during a search last year. Abby R. Smith, 36, was taken into custody by Auburn police and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police say Smith concealed 21 grams of cocaine when the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at her home in May. Her partner, Seraphin Moniz, was also arrested and later sentenced to seven years in prison for possessing six ounces of cocaine.

The task force, which includes Auburn police, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State Police, continues its efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the region.
