Livingston County nursing center welcomes new assistant directors of nursing

The Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (CNR) has welcomed two new assistant directors of nursing, April Curtis and Christopher Grassmann, to its leadership team. Both bring extensive healthcare experience and will support the day-to-day operations of the CNR’s nursing staff while assisting the director of nursing services.

CNR Director of Long-Term Care Eric Townsend praised the new hires, emphasizing their expertise and commitment to patient-centered care.

“I’m excited to welcome these two experienced and dedicated individuals to our outstanding nursing team,” Townsend said. “Their skillsets and expertise will help us to continue our tradition of providing the highest standards of patient-centered care here at the CNR.”

Curtis, who stepped into her role in December, has over nine years of nursing experience, including time as an assistant director of nursing at Steuben Center. A U.S. Army veteran and graduate of Genesee Community College, she previously served as a charge nurse at CNR, focusing on employee health, safety, and infection control.

“I would like to continue to improve an already great place to work and continue to grow and improve our facility,” Curtis said. “To enrich the lives of our customers is my ultimate goal, be it a resident, family member, or the staff we work with.”

Grassmann, who joined CNR this month, has worked in various healthcare roles over the past 11 years, including positions in the neuromedicine intensive care unit and mobile stroke unit at Strong Memorial Hospital. He is also a paramedic with Livonia and Pittsford Volunteer Ambulances. A graduate of St. John Fisher College, he is eager to build strong relationships with residents and staff.

“I’m looking forward to learning as much as possible in this position,” Grassmann said. “I also plan to meet and build relationships with as many team members, residents, and families as I can to provide the best care.”
