Waterloo town officials’ court cases postponed to March 10

The court cases for Waterloo Town Supervisor Don Trout and Board Member Rob Lotz, charged with third-degree burglary, have been delayed until March 10. The charges stem from their alleged unauthorized entry into the town Highway Department building on March 25, 2024, where they reportedly damaged a television.

Trout, Lotz, and Trout’s girlfriend, Michelle Geraghty—who also faces charges—pleaded innocent and were released on their own recognizance. The case remains before Town Justice Steven Kelly.

Trout maintains his innocence, while both officials have stated they will not resign. They claim they were acting to remove the TV after the highway superintendent failed to do so.
