Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester) has secured $50,000 in CREST Grant funding to support the renovation of the historic Train Depot in the Town of Cuyler. The grant will be used to transform the structure into a new Town Office, preserving a key part of the community’s heritage while enhancing public services.

The funds will cover the installation of spray insulation and electrical wiring, crucial updates to make the building fully operational. Once completed, the restored depot will serve as a hub for the town, hosting public meetings, educational programs, and cultural events.
“It is my honor to represent the Town of Cuyler in the New York State Assembly,” Gallahan said. He highlighted the town’s commitment to historic preservation and adaptive reuse, adding, “I am proud to have secured this funding, which will go a long way towards enabling the town to better serve its residents and realize its long-term vision.”
Town Supervisor Lou Anne Randall echoed Gallahan’s sentiments, calling the grant a “major step forward” for the community. “Restoring and repurposing the old Train Depot into a functional Town Office ensures that we can better serve our residents while preserving an important part of our town’s history,” Randall said.
Gallahan represents the 131st Assembly District, which spans several counties, including Ontario, Seneca, Cayuga, Cortland, and others.
