USPS halts package shipments from China and Hong Kong

The United States Postal Service announced a temporary suspension of package deliveries from China and Hong Kong, effective immediately. Letters and flat mail are exempt from the ban. USPS did not provide a reason or timeline for the suspension.

The announcement came on the same day China revealed retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods, including coal, LNG, and agricultural machinery, in response to President Trump’s new 10% tariff on Chinese imports.

Trump plans to discuss the trade tensions with Chinese President Xi Jinping soon.
