Ontario to pull U.S. alcohol after Trump’s tariffs

Ontario will remove all American alcohol from Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) shelves starting Tuesday, following President Donald Trump’s 25% tariffs on Canadian imports. Premier Doug Ford announced the LCBO, which sold nearly $1 billion in U.S. alcohol last year, will also block retailers from restocking American products.

The move aligns with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s retaliatory tariffs on $155 billion of U.S. goods.

Other provinces, including Nova Scotia and British Columbia, have also ordered the removal of U.S. alcohol, targeting products from “red states.”
