For a second straight night, the Syracuse men’s basketball team (3-2) came out on the losing end, falling 79-74 to Texas Tech (5-1) in the third-place game of the Legends Classic at the Barclays Center.
The game was tied at 38 early in the second half, but the Red Raiders went on a 21-9 run to take control and never looked back.
Two players scored in double figures for the Orange and combined for 49 of the 74 points. JJ Starling led the way with a game-high 27 points, while Chris Bell poured in 22 points.
