Freeville native Lonnie Park, a three-time Grammy winner, has added two more nominations to his name for the 2025 Grammy Awards, bringing his career total to six. Known for his impact on the global music scene, Park’s work continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.
Park’s first nomination recognizes his contributions to Ricky Kej’s album Break of Dawn, competing for Best New Age Album. The project, focused on mental wellness, follows their 2022 Grammy-winning collaboration on Divine Tides. His second nod comes for “Kashira,” a track with Japanese artist Masa Takumi, nominated for Best Global Performance. The song serves as the theme for the film Himuro Renji and Netflix series Nihon Touitsu.
Park, who operates Barncastle Studio in Freeville, credits his collaborators and family for his success, calling his career a “dream come true.”
