A two-car crash on Sunday morning in Schuyler County claimed the lives of two passengers after their vehicle was struck at an intersection. According to the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at the intersection of County Routes 16 and 17 around 10:52 a.m.
The victims, 55-year-old Manjula Velikanti and 61-year-old Prasad Velikanti, were passengers in a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Anjani Velikanti. Authorities reported that Anjani Velikanti was uninjured in the crash but was issued a summons for failing to yield the right of way at the intersection. The driver and passenger in the other vehicle involved were not injured.
Emergency services, including Montour Falls Rescue and Schuyler Ambulance, responded to the scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and further updates are expected from the sheriff’s office.
