Two people were rescued from Lake Ontario Monday morning after their sailboat capsized near the Rochester harbor.
The vessel, which had departed from the Genesee River, overturned in the waters, prompting a swift response from the U.S. Coast Guard and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Both individuals were safely brought ashore, with no injuries reported.
The sailboat was later towed out of the water. The incident occurred as the boat was navigating close to the harbor, highlighting the importance of safety measures on the lake.
