Bills to sign safety Lewis Cine to practice squad

The Buffalo Bills are expected to sign safety Lewis Cine to the practice squad, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Thursday.

Cine, a former first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings, initially planned on signing with the New York Jets but changed his mind over the last 24 hours.

The 24-year-old has appeared in just 10 NFL games over the last two years due to a compound fracture of his leg.

The Bills have one more opening on their practice squad after defensive end Kingsley Jonathan received an exemption as an international player, meaning Buffalo is allowed to add a 17th player.

Cine will join a safety room that includes Taylor Rapp, Cole Bishop, Damar Hamlin, Mike Edwards, and Cam Lewis. Bishop and Lewis are currently working their way back from injuries.
