Residents of Auburn may notice an uptick in law enforcement presence in specific areas, as multiple agencies come together to engage with the community and combat violent crime.
The Auburn Police Department announced a collaborative initiative involving city officials, the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, State Police, and several other regional agencies to address “hot spots” – zones frequently associated with violent incidents based on years of complaints and arrests data.
This increased law enforcement drive is funded by the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Grant, focusing primarily on habitual offenders.
Auburn residents are encouraged to share tips or concerns regarding violent crimes through the Auburn Police Department’s dedicated hotline at 315-282-7540 or the community watch email.
