State police are investigating a fatal barn fire that happened in Oswego County Monday afternoon.
A little before 5 p.m. first responders were called to Gale Road in Constantia for a reported explosion and structure fire.
When firefighters arrived they found a fully-involved barn with a person trapped inside. The fire was extinguished and during recovery – the body of 25-year-old Benjamin Swistak, was located.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Oswego County Fire Investigations team.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, Constantia Fire, Cleveland Fire, Central Square Fire, Sylvan Beach Fire, West Monroe Fire, and North Shore Ambulance,
The investigation remains active at this time.
