Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) endorsed seven pieces of legislation aimed at supporting law enforcement officers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and tools to safeguard communities.

The bills, all passed by the House of Representatives with Tenney’s backing, include H.R. 354, which broadens the ability of qualified law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms in various public areas, and H.R. 8146, requiring the Attorney General to report on the impact of the border crisis on law enforcement.

Additional legislation includes H.R. 7343, mandating the detention and deportation of illegal aliens who assault officers, and S. 546, expanding recruitment and retention efforts through the DOJ’s COPS grant program. Two resolutions, H. Res. 1213 and H. Res. 1210, address violence against officers and condemn the impact of President Biden’s border policies.

Tenney emphasized the importance of these measures, stating, “Our courageous law enforcement officers deserve the tools and protections to do their jobs safely and efficiently.”
