Mets reinstate Omar Narváez, DFA Tomás Nido

The New York Mets made a couple of roster moves on their day off that involved the catching position.

The club reinstated Omar Narváez from the injured list and designated Tomás Nido for assignment.

Narváez, who signed a one-year contract with the Mets in the offseason, went on the injured list early this season with a left calf strain after sustaining the injury on April 5.

Nido signed a two-year, $3.7 million contract extension in the offseason. He also spent time on the injured list this season with dry eye syndrome. But with the emergence of 21-year-old rookie Francisco Álvarez, he is the odd man out.
