Early-morning structure fire prompts hefty response from Wayne County first responders

The Ontario Fire Company in Wayne County responded to a vehicle fire on Clevenger Road early Sunday morning at approximately 12:32 a.m. The incident escalated to a structure fire involving a barn/garage shortly after dispatch.

The fire was brought under control by 1:15 a.m., but firefighters remained on scene until about 5:30 a.m. to extinguish hot spots and clean up. The team was back in service before 7:00 a.m., with no injuries reported.


Assisting agencies included Lincoln Fire Rescue, Williamson Fire Company #1, Ontario Volunteer Emergency Squad, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Ontario Highway Department, Wayne County Fire Coordinators Office, and RG&E. Walworth Fire Department provided standby coverage, and Wayne County 911 helped coordinate resources. The Ontario Fire Company thanked all involved for their teamwork and assistance.
