The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office responded to a theft complaint on March 12th at around 12:36 pm at the Nike Factory Store. Upon arrival, deputies began searching for the suspect who had fled the scene.

The suspect was spotted getting into a vehicle and fled westbound on State Route 318 in the Town of Junius. The deputies followed and eventually caught up with the vehicle on State Route 318 in the Town of Phelps, where the suspect was attempting to get onto the Thruway. A traffic stop was initiated, and the suspect was identified as Sharron L. Anderson, a 56-year-old resident of Syracuse.

Upon searching the vehicle, several clothing items from various stores were discovered next to Anderson’s seat. The driver and the other passenger were released from the scene, and Anderson was charged with two counts of petit larceny, possession of burglar’s tools, and obstructing governmental administration, all misdemeanors.

Anderson was released to the custody of the New York State Police due to an active warrant for her arrest. She is expected to appear in the Town of Junius Court on April 20th at 7:00 p.m. to answer the charges brought against her.
