Looking for a job?
While unemployment remains low and concerns about a future recession loom – the local job market is hot. Especially in healthcare. Experts say the Rochester and Finger Lakes region continues to have more jobs open than workers to fill.
An array of factors are contributing to that, it’s not entirely unusual.
Despite a lot of concerns about what the economy will do in 2023 – the most-essential fact is this: There are several industries that have not ‘caught up’ to the reset point.
Meaning, industries like technology that saw a boom during the pandemic, or simply weren’t effected by it reached its employment capacity earlier this year. Now, we’re seeing layoffs at some of the largest tech companies in the world.
Healthcare lost an incredible volume of workers during the pandemic, due to regulation, burnout, and inadequate pay.
So, for regions like this one, the number of opportunities will continue to be high.
FingerLakes1.com is the region’s leading all-digital news publication. The company was founded in 1998 and has been keeping residents informed for more than two decades. Have a lead? Send it to [email protected].
