Possible cannabis dispensary draws concern in Union Springs

The Cayuga Nation is apparently planning another cannabis dispensary.

One week after a large donation to the Union Springs Fire Department, the Nation is said to be working toward opening a cannabis dispensary in the village.

The problem is that there’s a local law preventing retail sales of cannabis.

Village officials haven’t taken any action yet, mainly because the property has not been open. However, the site of the cannabis dispensary will be at the former Gus’ Pizzeria. The Cayuga Nation purchased that property earlier this year.

The Nation has been selling marijuana in Seneca Falls and are planning a significant growing and packaging operation at their Ovid Street facility, too.
