Police say a Chemung man was taken into custody following a several month-long methamphetamine investigation.
Robert J. Fairbanks, 58, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of cannabis, and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Members of the new York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, Troop E K9, Troop E Uniform, and the Elmira Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a methamphetamine investigation in the Town of Chemung. Law enforcement members executed a search warrant and seized approximately 5 pounds of methamphetamine, 7 pounds of processed cannabis, a 12-gauge shotgun with ammunition, and over $4,000.
Fairbanks was arraigned in the Town of Ashland Court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail.
