Wickham Farms corn maze celebrating Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp’s 100th anniversary

Wickham Farms’ corn maze commemorates Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp’s 100th anniversary. This year’s maze season kicks off Friday, Aug. 26 with a special Sunshine Camp Day from noon to 2 p.m.

The Sunshine Camp-themed, four-acre corn maze will be open to the public through Oct. 31 during regular farm hours. Admission is required to visit the farm, located at 1315 Sweets Corners Road in Penfield, and guests can save by purchasing tickets online.

Rochester Rotary Executive Director Tracey Dreisbach said, “We are thrilled that Wickham Farms is helping celebrate Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp’s 100th anniversary. The Sunshine Camp-themed corn maze is a wonderful way to let area residents know about our one-of-a-kind camp that gives kids with disabilities a place to just be kids, with no barriers to fun.”

“Creating fun experiences and developing young people into young leaders is at the core of what we aim to do on the farm. We could not be more excited to partner with Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp for this year’s corn maze,” said farm owner Bill Wickham.

2022 marks the centennial year of Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp, a fully accessible residential summer camp that serves children with disabilities and their families. Originally located on 23 acres of land near Durand-Eastman Park when it opened on June 12, 1922, the camp relocated to its current 157-acre site in Rush in 1974. Rochester Rotary offers a two-week program at the camp to children with disabilities at no charge.
