Rochester Red Wings blanked by Buffalo in series finale

The Rochester Red Wings were blanked by the Buffalo Bisons, 1-0, in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Sahlen Field. With the loss, Rochester was swept by Buffalo in the three-game series.

Cory Abbott started for Rochester and allowed a run on five hits over four innings of work while walking one and striking out three.

The only run of the game came in the bottom of the fourth. Colton Shaver launched his first home run of the season over the left-field wall.


Jefry Rodriguez, Alberto Baldonado, and Mason Thompson all had scoreless outings for the Red Wings.

Riley Adams collected three of Rochester’s six hits.

The Red Wings will get the day off on Monday before they open a six-game series with the Worcester Red Sox on Tuesday night at Frontier Field.
